Cookie policy
Last updated: 20 October 2026
We use cookies on kapiteinspel.nl. In this cookie policy we explain what cookies are, which cookies we use and how you can manage your cookie preferences. Kapitein Spel is a trading name of Effe Een Spel. You will find our contact details at the bottom of this page and in our Privacy statement.
What are cookies
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit our website. They make sure, for example, that the website works properly, that your shopping basket is saved and that we can measure how the website is used. Besides cookies, we sometimes use similar technologies. Wherever this policy refers to cookies, it also means those technologies.
What types of cookies do we use
Necessary and functional cookies
These cookies are needed for the website to work properly. Think of remembering the contents of your shopping basket, completing your payment, saving your cookie preference and keeping the website secure. No consent is needed for these cookies. Without them, the website does not work properly.
These include cookies for:
Running the website and the shopping basket
Completing payments through our payment provider Mollie
The search function on the website (Algolia)
Remembering your cookie preference
Analytical cookies
With your consent, we place analytical cookies from Google Analytics. These let us measure how visitors use our website, for example which pages are viewed, so that we can improve the website. These cookies are only placed after you have given your consent.
Also only with your consent, we use cookies from Sourcebuster (sbjs) and an item in your browser's session storage (ks_first_touch). These let us recognise which source brought you to our website and on which page your visit began, so that we can attribute orders correctly.
Marketing cookies
We send our emails with Klaviyo. If you consent to marketing in the cookie notice, Klaviyo places the cookie __kla_id. This lets Klaviyo see which games you view and add to your shopping basket, so that our emails better match what you enjoy. Klaviyo only links this to you once you enter your email address with us or log in. If you do not consent, Klaviyo places no cookies and does not track anything on our website.
We do not currently place any marketing cookies for advertising. Should that change in the future, we will update this cookie policy and ask for your consent beforehand.
Google Maps
Our website may show a map from Google Maps. When this map loads, Google may place cookies. This happens based on your cookie preference.

Your consent and managing cookies
On your first visit to our website, a cookie notice asks whether you consent to us placing analytical cookies and marketing cookies.
We always place necessary and functional cookies, because the website does not work properly without them.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time. You do this via the cookie settings. You can also manage and delete cookies in your browser settings. Please bear in mind that the website may not work as well if you delete or block necessary cookies.
You will find instructions for managing cookies in the help pages of your browser, such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge.
Third-party cookies
Some cookies are placed by other parties, such as Google. These parties are themselves responsible for how they use their cookies. Their own privacy and cookie policies explain what they do with the data.
Changes
We may update this cookie policy, for example if we start using new cookies. The most recent version is always on our website.
At the top of this page you can see when the policy was last updated.
