Race for the Galaxy is a lightning-fast card game in which you build a galactic empire by colonising worlds, developing technologies and planning economic strategies. Each round you choose your actions, look for synergy in your cards and race against your opponents to become the most successful civilisation!

About the game

In Race for the Galaxy you are a visionary leader building an intergalactic empire. Settle new worlds, develop advanced technologies and optimise your economy to stay ahead of your opponents. The game is a mix of mapping out your strategy, tactical planning, and building and discarding the right cards, choices that shape your future every turn.

Each round, players simultaneously choose an action, such as Explore, Develop, Settle, Produce or Consume & Trade. Only the chosen phases are played, and players who select an action get an extra bonus. This means you not only have to optimise your own strategy, but also anticipate your opponents' choices.

The game runs over several rounds, in which each player:

• Chooses actions: each player selects an action card and places it face down. Once everyone has made their choice, the cards are revealed and carried out.
• Explores and colonises worlds: draw cards to discover new planets and technologies and expand your empire.
• Builds developments: invest in advanced technologies and economic advantages to make your empire stronger.
• Manages production and trade: some worlds produce goods you can sell or consume to earn extra points.

The game ends as soon as a player has 12 cards in their tableau or when the victory points run out. The player with the most points wins and becomes the ruler of the universe!
